From the Abyss: Short Stories and Poems of Descent & Redemption |
This is a collection of mental thrill rides mixed with the terrifying prospect that these things can happen to anyone. The mind is an unknown place that has the ability to reach the darkest corners of the imagination. Its abilities are unfathomable and untested.
Mental illness, it affects everyone in different ways. For me it is a very personal thing as I deal with it on a daily basis both outside and inside my own mind. These stories and poems are bits and pieces of my own broken mind and, indeed, of my own pain. Horror has always been my most favorite genre in both films and books. I wrote these stories to be as an homage to those that have come before me and have made this genre the amazing work of art that it is. |

"I LOVED this book!! As someone who has bipolar disorder and GAD it was like looking into my own soul. This book is not for the faint of heart, but I guarantee you will be touched by every story, every poem and every picture. "I have deeply enjoyed this book. The authors illustrations, and her take on & shedding of light on multiple different cases of mental illnesses that those who do not suffer from can understand and empathize with. You can connect with the protagonists whether they suffer a similar illness or not. I think this book is amazingly done because it shed light on the taboo that no one wants to talk about and turn their eyes away from but shows the suffered that they are not alone."
- Amazon Customer "All the warning aside, this was such a powerful novel. The stories and poems were so thought-provoking and visceral. The author poured her heart and soul into this novel, and it shows. The reader is brought to feel so many emotions while reading the selections within."
